Other informationCLUB SWITCH
In 2021 she moved from Team FrySk to Team Jumbo-Visma, a Dutch commercial club team. During the 2020/21 season she had to seek sponsors and donations because of the lack of funding available from Team FrySk. "It means I can focus entirely on sports, training and skating. I no longer have to worry about other issues. I had been with Team FrySk for four years, and it really felt like a family to me. The bond with Siep [Hoekstra, Team FrySk coach] was also very special. So it's hard to say goodbye. It's very exciting to see what another training programme does. I'm not afraid of it, otherwise I would not have made the move." After two years in the club she says she expects to get into international competitions for the 2023/24 season. I am very happy that I can continue building for another year. When I joined the team two years ago, I secretly hoped that I would qualify for the Olympic Games. Unfortunately that didn't work. Apparently I needed some more time to get used to a new team. I feel like last season went better than the first year and that's why I'm happy that I can stay another year. The first year it was mainly a matter of collecting data, but in the second year we were able to do much more with it. Together with [coach] Jac [Orie] I have come to the conclusion that we can do even more to make me better. There are no guarantees, but we are doing our very best to achieve that.
