When and where did you begin this sport?He was involved in figure skating and skeelering [a form of inline skating] as a child. He began speed skating at age 23.  
Reason for choosing this sportHe had six brothers who all skated, so they encouraged him to try the sport. He was also inspired after watching the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano.

InjuriesHe injured his groin while competing at the 2015 World Cup event in Salt Lake City, UT, United States of America. The injury, which he sustained during the 500m, ruled him out of the team sprint. (isu.org, 22 Nov 2015)

In July 2015 he sustained a fracture to his right hand, two fractures to his left hand, and broke his left arm after colliding with an announcer at the 2015 European Inline Speed Skating Championships in Worgl, Austria.
