Reason for choosing this sportShe has represented Belgium in roller speed skating, and was inspired to try speed skating by other athletes who had made the switch. "I was looking for a new challenge. I have always loved inline speed skating but one of my dreams is to compete at the Olympic Winter Games. Seeing many inline skaters become successful on the ice, I wanted to give it a shot as well."

When and where did you begin this sport?She began inline skating at age eight, and took up speed skating in 2018 at age 22. She first got involved in the sport at the Thialf Academy in Heerenveen, Netherlands, through the International Skating Union [ISU] 'Road to Ice' programme.
