His father Robert Dubreuil was also an international skater. He finished 14th in the 500m speed skating event at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France. His brother Laurent has represented Canada in speed skating World Cup events, and his younger sister Annabelle is a skater at elite junior level.
