Sporting philosophy / motto"I always want to get the best out of myself and I like to win." (schaatsen.nl, 01 Aug 2023)
Other informationSTAYING IN FRIESLAND
In 2022 she joined the Gewest Fryslan regional team in the Netherlands. She had the opportunity to move to a commercial team for the 2023/24 season but decided to stay in Friesland for another year. "There were indeed a number of teams I talked to. When you are young the goal is to go to a commercial team. However, I noticed that I really enjoyed [being with the regional team]. That things just went well. Somehow I also found it difficult to leave that behind. At the same time, it didn't seem right to me not to try something different, precisely because I like to seize new opportunities. The conversations with the region [team] and the various teams taught me that this club suits me best at this point in my career. This is where I can skate the fastest. Moreover, I think I should give myself more time to become more mature. I think fun and results are more important than money at the moment. I choose the good feeling. That's why I have postponed the step for a while, realising that a train is passing by. However, that train will be there again next season. I am convinced that I will perform again next winter. I walk my own route. And I have no regrets about that." (schaatsen.nl, 01 Aug 2023)
